Daniel Chandranayagam is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher (RYT 200 – 135893) in Manasa Yoga and also an ACE certified personal trainer (T158691). Daniel is also happy to be the first certified Broga® Yoga licensed instructor in Malaysia (September 2015).
Enjoying all schools of yoga mat practice, Daniel’s teacher training incorporated most traditional schools, including Sivananda, Iyengar and Ashtanga Vinyasa. While deeply valuing yoga’s philosophy, he approaches teaching with a sense of fun and humour.
Currently, Daniel is a resident teacher and teacher mentor at Manasa Yoga School, SS2. He also works as a freelance yoga teacher and fitness coach. He has helped in yoga therapy classes for stroke and Parkinson’s victims and he also shares a yoga class for the visually-disabled at the Malaysian Association for the Blind with a group of Manasa Yoga teachers. His interest in special populations has also led him to teach yoga therapy at a home for abandoned girls, as well as focusing on men’s and seniors’ yoga for his private sessions.
With a keen interest in sports, Daniel’s focus is on yoga for athletes. He trained the young pro golfers of Malaysia in both fitness and yoga in 2014, and was also asked to be featured in Running Malaysia magazine in a Yoga for Runners series (in 2014 and 2015). In 2015, Daniel worked together with FISAF Malaysia on two workshops, Yoga For Runners in Kuala Lumpur and Yoga for Athletes in Johore Bahru, Malaysia.
Also bearing the Malaysian National Sports Council’s Sports Science level one certification, Daniel is also a columnist in a local newspaper.
